Walden
I am reading Walden by Thoreau and it strikes many cords with we. How sad is it that we think we have achieved so much by the amount of "stuff" we accumulate. He is right to say those who have spent so much of their life working to earn a days wage to buy items not needed for our existence, but simply for luxury are the poorest among us. I am included in that group.

"The Last Lecture"
I am reading "The Last Lecture" by Randy Pausch, it is an often depressing book scattered with pearls of wisdom. Things we all know but when written by a person who knows he is dead in a few short months it takes on new meaning.
I recommend this book to everyone because we take everything for granted. I learned this lesson the hard way when my father died. We had been estranged for more than a decade when he took ill, then got better then died after receiving a colonoscopy that perforated his intestine.
I should have taken that in between time to say the things that needed to be said but i did not and now he is gone. Regret # 1 million and 1.
I placate myself thinking "my father is with me or looking down on me, so he kows what I wanted to say", and that gets me by.

Tiger Woods
Why is Tiger Woods held to a higher standard than a catholic priest? He took a vow to his wife.
Priests took vows to GOD and then molested little boys over and over again and were allow to do it by the church.
Yeah they got the calling all right... the calling to rape boys. Bunch of homos... have fun in hell.
Tiger Woods is just an athlete, not a priest or super hero... just a human being. So why it is earth shattering when an athlete messes around with a bunch of women but these homo priests get away with it?
I think people should be paying more attention to the politicians who are running this once great nation into the ground and do something about that and leave Tiger alone.
I you had more money than you knew what to do with and could nail any man or woman you wanted YOU WOULD TOO!

The Weather
With all of the rain we have had I am just waiting for the tree huggers to blame this on global warming.
What everyone needs to remember is that the Earth is a living organism, it breaths, grows and ages just like we do. If you look at the glacial core samples scientists have found definitive proof that the earth has done these warming cycles through out it's existence.
Yes it is too bad that dumb people chose to buy/rent home's next to a river or flood plane and are now under water or flooded.
But how could they not see this coming? It was not a matter of "if" it would flood but "when" it would flood.
It is like the people who live in tornado alley... HELLO!! Common sense calling... Hello?
Too bad they can't teach common sense in school...

Religion/Faith
You do not need to go to a building to worship what ever you call your God.
We were all created from the "Source" of all things and therefore are being's of creation. So if you are of the source you are a place of worship.
Dr. Wayne Dyer has written many books on this topic that have shown me that I am not the only person who thinks like I do.
It is my own personal belief that organized religion is a vehicle for greed. But if that is what gets you thru more power to you. But do not try and force your beliefs on me. I will practice my faith in my way and you in yours. That is what is great about living in the USA.

If everyone worked to be the absolute best at everything they did the world would be a better place. No matter what you do for your chosen job... do it the BEST you can each and every day. No matter what it is, from the coffee server at DD, or the burger flipper at BK or McD to the people in government.
But a large portion of the working force only does enough not to get terminated. In my own personal life no matter what job I have had I have always excelled and been promoted. When I was a dish washer I was promoted to Cook because I showed I had skill when preparing my own meals at work, which lead to being a banquet chef.
If you have a job you should be thankful! Millions do not, so every day give it your best and you will be recognized and promoted I promise you.
